Privacy policy
Last updated 21 September 2026. Applies to tenframe.dev and the Ten Frame API, operated by Ten Frame Labs.
Ten Frame turns videos into searchable, per-second descriptions for developers. This policy explains what we collect to do that, who processes it on our behalf, how long we keep it, and how you can delete it. The short version: your videos and everything derived from them belong to you, we use them only to provide the service to you, and deleting a video deletes its data.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, and a name if you give one. During the beta, sign-in uses your email and a shared beta password.
- Videos you submit. Files you upload, or videos at URLs you point us to. We also keep the frames sampled from them and the audio track for as long as processing needs them.
- Derived data. The index we build: per-second descriptions, summaries, detected objects, on-screen text, events, and speech transcripts, plus your questions and search queries.
- Usage and billing records. Which API calls you make, credits used, plan and subscription status, and identifiers from our payment provider. We never see or store your card number.
- Technical data. IP address, browser and request metadata in server logs, used for security, rate limiting, and debugging.
How we use it
- To provide the service: index your videos, answer questions, run searches, and deliver results through the dashboard, the API, and webhooks you configure.
- To bill you: track credits, apply your plan, and reconcile payments.
- To keep the service safe: enforce rate limits, detect abuse, and investigate errors.
- To communicate with you about your account, such as billing or service changes. We do not send marketing email during the beta.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your videos or their transcripts to train machine learning models.
Who processes it for us
We run on infrastructure and services from these providers, each of which processes data only to deliver its part of the service:
- Vercel hosts the website and API (United States).
- Neon hosts our database, which holds your account, index data, and usage records (United States).
- Cloudflare provides DNS, TLS, and R2 object storage for uploaded videos.
- Anthropic receives sampled video frames and transcript excerpts to generate descriptions and answers. Anthropic’s API does not train on customer data.
- Deepgram receives the audio track to produce transcripts.
- Dodo Payments is our merchant of record. It collects your payment details, handles taxes and invoices, and shares with us only what we need to credit your account.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded videos and their index stay until you delete the video from the dashboard or with the API. Deletion removes the file from storage and the index from our database.
- Temporary files created during processing are removed when the job finishes.
- Questions and search queries are not stored beyond server logs, which are kept for up to 30 days.
- Account, credit, and billing records are kept for as long as your account exists, and afterwards as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can delete any video at any time. To export or delete your account and everything in it, or to ask what we hold about you, email support@tenframe.dev from the address on the account and we will act within 30 days. If you are in a jurisdiction that grants specific rights over your data, such as the EU, the UK, or California under the CCPA, those rights apply and the same address is how to exercise them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.
Cookies
We set one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Security
Data moves over TLS. API keys are stored as one-way hashes, so they cannot be recovered from our database. Webhook deliveries are signed so you can verify they came from us. Access to production systems is limited to the people who operate the service.
Children
The service is for businesses and developers and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify account holders by email before the change takes effect.
